Big Brew 2010
While the old folks drank homebrew to their hearts content, the monkeys looked like this most of the day…

Six years young
An Earth Day hike
Kicking it kosher
Massebesic Audubon
Hiked the trail at the Audubon today and did the WHOLE loopy thingy. Simone did it in flip-flops. (Bad Mommy.)
Our goal was to find the water. We did.
Amazingly, no bribery was needed to get this. Just a fib that there was a barfing salamander on my head. ;)
This was Harper’s first lake trip. She was impressed. For real.
Lucky for us, a birch tree kept a freaky eye on the kids while we kicked back by the lake’s edge…
It was a beautiful day for a walk. Gabe, of course, found critters left and right…
The wiggliest salamander you ever saw!
Caden tried his darndest to do the same (to no avail). He lifted rocks left and right for potato bugs to call his own.
Ginormous stumps proved to be a picturesque stop.

Most of the time the monkeys were glued to their Doherty siblings. The big boys…
The day ended with a much needed picnic back at the Audubon center and a sorting of treasures ceremony amongst the ladies.
Art in April: Part 2- Ansel Adams & Henri Silverman
Art in April: Part 1- The homework
First up the homework! Of course we waited until the day before it was due… What kind of students would we be if we didn’t procrastinate? We headed to Main St., Nashua for our “city” photos:

I set the camera to aperture priority (1.8) and changed the focus points to ‘all’ and let ‘em at it. 100+ photos later, these were the cream of the crop. First up, Gabe. I love this one…
Found a little country in our city…
My favorite nature pic… Look at that bokeh!
And Simone’s top shots. The down and dirty city… Bomey’s got some edge! ;)

Great composition and perspective here!
We stopped by the river on our way home for a little “country”…
Not to be shown up by a couple of monkeys, I couldn’t resist taking some of my own. A little city…
6 short years
Extra, extra!
We made the front page of the Union Leader today (3 years after our last appearance)!
A12 too…
We kinda like being famous, if only for a day. ;)
Art in April- Jackson Pollock
Who doesn’t want to throw paint around on a balmy Tuesday afternoon?
Miniature Pollocks…

We managed to finish just before the rain drops started falling more heavily.
This little beauty is priced at $250. Any takers?
Afterwards, it was inside for sharing our “homework”; album covers. Gabe’s was inspired by one of his favorite computer games, “Plants vs. Zombies”.
The captive audience…
Newcastle Beach
Our first trip of the year! It was high tide all afternoon and very windy so it wasn’t the sand we played on as much as the grass and path to the beach.
Of course, nothing phases the monkeys. Fun can be made any and everywhere…
Way cool rocks can always be found…
And babies can always be propped up in guitar cases…

At least the seagulls are always up for a photoshoot…
And the just-starting-to-bud twig thingys in front of the seagulls.
